Requirements For Form Routines Performances: Hand Forms and weapon forms are required to be practiced to the point that it is unquestionably familiar. The entire routine has to be fluid, rhythm should be dynamic, movement should be clean, and the momevemtns should be fast without being rushed. There should be unity in the stance and waist. Power should be delivered with focus. Hands should be quick and footwork should be light and agile. The flavor of CCK TCPM must be presented. Form routines can not be altered. All requirements must meet fundamentally of the late Grandmaster’s teaching. Wooden Dummy: The entire set should be fluid and familiar. Impact must be powerful. The entire wooden dummy form should be performed with the body being lively, footwork being agile and contact of the upper limbs with the dummy should never be broken. Two Man Forms: There should be rhythm and a fast tempo. It should be absolutely familiar, fearless, and without pause. Weapons must stay close to the partner’s body and complete the form flawlessly. Tai Chi Hand Forms and Weapon Forms: External observation: movements should be fluid, circular and without pause. Movements should align with the centerline, 4 cardinals, opening and closing, 6 harmonies, body leads the limbs, and the “single” exchange process during advance and retreat. Introspect during performance: Relaxed and comfortable, the mind leads the moves, all sections acts as one, continuous, breathing softly and calmly, no blushing and no panting, body temperature slight warmer than normal. The audience should be able to resonant with the relaxed, supple and comfortable feeling of the exponent. Basic standards for Weapons: Saber: The flimsy Modern Wushu blade can not be used. A flag must be attached to the hilt. The length of the blade should reach at least the middle of the ear of the exponent after he has “tugged” in the saber. Sword: The flimsy Modern Wushu blade can not be used. A “tassel” must be attached to the hilt. The length of the blade should be the sword tip reaches the tip of the ear of the exponent. Staff: It should be made of thick White Wax wood. The length of the staff should reach at least the wrist line of a straightly raised arm of the exponent while standing in attention. Spear: It should have “Horse Hair Fringe. The length of the spear should reach at least the tip of the middle finger of a straightly raised arm of the exponent while standing in attention. Three Sectional Staff: It should be made of thick White Wax wood. Seven Sectional Chain Whip: The length should be measured from the top of the hip (waist level) to the floor. It must be the traditional steel whip specification. The Modern Wushu thin wire-like metal whip cannot be used. Gwan Dow: It has to be the General Kwan’s Big Broad Sword specification. The Ja Ma Dow type or Pok Dow cannot be used. 9 Ring Broad Sword: A Nine Rings broad sword should be used. Narrow or Normal Saber cannot be used instead. All details must follow the teachings of the late Grandmaster Chiu. One must comprehend weapons not just able to perform the weapon forms.
